Marblehead Halifax Race Update

marble logoAfter racing for over 49 hours, Norwalk's own Ed Cesare finished the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race aboard Privateer. They have finished 1st in IRC-1 and 3rd in IRC Overall. Norwalk has other boats still competing in the race and are set to finish in the coming hours. Glim, skippered by Bill Klein, and Gadzooks, skippered by Jeff Beringer, are still making their approach to Halifax.

As the website of the race says, the race encompasses a 360 nautical mile course starting in Marblehead, MA and ending in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The race began in 1905 and has continued sporadically since. It is and ISAF category 2 event and also functions are a qualifier for the Northern Ocean Racing Trophy for IRC yachts and the New England Lighthouse Series for PHRF yachts.
