Commodore’s Construction Update

Clubhouse Renovation - Your Weekly Update, March 29

The Clubhouse renovation is now proceeding at a brisker pace. Window installation and roofing work is ongoing. We expect the addition housing the galley, bathrooms and sail loft to be framed in the next week or two. To be honest, this has been a tough renovation on an old clubhouse; we tear a wall out & find more rotten wood.
Timing: We expect the exterior of the entire structure to be completed by early May. We hope to have the bathrooms completed and operational by late May. The goal is to have the entire clubhouse completed by mid June with just some site work, landscaping and punch list items remaining after that. Since our Commissioning will be moved out we will also push out the decommissioning and plan additional events late into the fall.
As I mentioned last week, the inside of the main area of the clubhouse has been framed. Once the electric, plumbing and ductwork is complete, sheetrock will be installed and painted. The north side of the fireplace has been opened up and will sport a glass panel facing the new bar at the location of the old stairway.
Like last year when we replaced the deck, there will be a delayed Commissioning ceremony but the Club will be open. Everyone should be aware that the mooring field, launch service, and fuel dock will be available this spring as usual. Please go to the mooring application link on the homepage to reserve your mooring for the 2013 season and keep in mind our mooring field access is limited by our state permit that runs from April 15 to October 31.
Thank you all for your patience while we work through this significant improvement to our facilities.
